How to upgrade the VGC Database offline？

Currently SHD's VCG database can be upgraded only via online way, offline support is not there. Let us know if this feature is needed, we can work on it in next release.

Hi @plaquevent ,

We do ship the latest VCG database with every SHD release, so SHD VCG database should get updated implicitly once you perform an offline SHD update (SHD has monthly release cadence, so VCG database should also get updated every month, if you keep the SHD instance updated).

In case you require to update the SHD VCG database by yourself or more frequently, then please connect the SHD to internet and user "Update VCG" feature from its user interface.

This procedure is not suitable for air gap environments. We (Thales Alenia Space) need a way to manually download the VCG database and manually upload it (after virus screening) in a live SHD instance which has absolutely no internet connectivity at any time.

Though we can possibly explore and suggest a way to "Just Update" the VCG database into the SHD appliance, we would like to understand if it is not feasible for you to download the latest version of SHD ISO (for offline update), perform all the required sanity checks on it and the update the installed SHD instance to the latest version using the ISO. This won't require internet connectivity to the SHD appliance at any time.

This will also help in updating the SHD instance as well as updating the VCG database (as it is bundled along with the ISO), so you can use the new checks/signatures shipped in the release, along with the latest features of SHD?
