Forgot root default password

Can't login using shd-admin account because the password has expired and now found that I don't have the root password. Is there a way to reset the root account?

Hello @ksram  

I was able to reset the root password and also reset the failed logon count. I was also able to login to the Skyline VM from Vmware web console using the new root password, however, when I tried to ssh or open a web UI my new root password was rejected with an error "Authentication failed!! Invalid UserName or Password provided." I also reset the password to the shd-admin account and still seeing the same error message. 

Would you know what this could be?
