Upgrade to skyline 3.1

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to upgrade from skyline 3.0 to 3.1 however skyline doesn't see any update.

When I connect to the console and run vamicli update --check it returns no available update found.

What can I do to upgrade to 3.1?

same here.

upgrade not available on the GUI and not available manually using

/opt/vmware/bin/vamicli update --check

as described in Skyline Collector - Manual Upgrade - VMware Support Insider

why sending out email announcements if you don't make available the bits ?

Thank you, thought there was a problem with my virtual app. Hopefully they'll rectify shortly.

So, with some help I was able to fix my issue doing the following as a workaround. VMware is now aware of the issue with some customers.

We are currently experiencing an issue with the upgrade repository, that may affect certain customer collectors by not allowing them to upgrade to 3.1.0.0. We are working on resolving this issue, but until the repository is fixed, customers may be able to manually upgrade their 3.0.0.0 collectors to 3.1.0.0 by performing the following commands in the Skyline VA:

  1.     login to the VA (i.e. ssh, or web console)
  2.     clear the vami manifest cache - rm -rvf /opt/vmware/var/lib/vami/update/data/cache
  3.     retry update

During such manual actions, it is highly advised that a VA snapshot is created beforehand!

Right after the upgrade completed, the VA restarted and now I am in 3.1, yeah!
