Deregister Skyline Collector

I suspect that after I renewed our SSL Certificates that the collector does not know about our environment anymore. I have rebooted the collector and attempted to re-register the collector, but am unable to de-register the collector as it is not listed as inactive. Can I get some assistance removing this collector so I can register a new instance?

After reading the logs in /var/log/skyline/collector.log -- there is a certificate validation error --

Certificate validation check on endpoint is required and it failed. Error: The server certificate thumbprint doesn't match the expected one.

Will I need to de-register my Skyline appliance and re-register or is there another way of updating the certificate that is being presented?

Hello @martinrobert6f,

Welcome to Skyline communities!

This issue you have mentioned seems to be related to communication between the Endpoints and Skyline collector.

We do not have to de-register the collector for this issue. We would have to update connectivity settings for the Endpoints.

This can be achieved by logging into the Skyline collector interface. Please follow the steps below

  • Enter the IP address/FQDN of the Skyline appliance in the browser window
  • Login with Admin credentials
  • Click the Configuration tab
  • Click on the 'Edit' option of the Endpoint for which you are having the issue
  • Enter the password
  • Click on Update.

Please let us know how it goes

Sincerely
