Cannot register or deregister collectors - 'unknown' status

I'm trying to register two new collectors to one of our orgs, to cover two of our three geographic regions.  One has registered just fine, but the other two are failing.

When registering the token on the collector, it hangs for a while, eventually returning the error 'Technical error occurred while processing the request.  Please try again later'

However, a new collector entry *does* appear in Skyline Advisor, but with an 'Unknown' status, meaning I cannot deregister it.

Any ideas?

Welcome to Skyline Communities!

It was an intermittent issue, I would request to try to register the collector again. However, we recommend having a separate collector in each geographically disperses datacenter.

For the collector just added showing "Unknown Status". It is expected behaviour, which will get updated in next 48 hours.

I'm also having problems registering a new collector.

It was an intermittent issue, I would request to try to register the collector again. However, we recommend having a separate collector in each geographically disperses datacenter.

For the collector just added showing "Unknown Status". It is expected behaviour, which will get updated in next 48 hours.

OK thanks.  I was able to register the collectors now - just waiting for the 4 'unknown' collectors to clear out, which were related to the previous failed attempts.

Reason for registering multiple collectors from the same location is because we run a multi-tenanted vcenter - I wanted to break skyline advisors out into separate cloud orgs.

Thanks for your help - will keep an eye out for the removal of stale collectors.
