vSphere Replication 8.4 and SRM 8.4 Caveats Clarification

Hi

Could someone provide a clarification about what this means?

SRM

  • NEW Site Recovery Manager 8.4 does not support vSphere 7.0 Update 2 if virtual machine encryption is switched on

vSphere Replication

  • NEW vSphere Replication 8.4 does not support vSphere 7.0 Update 2 if virtual machine encryption is switched on.

Does this mean the VR and SRM cannot run in a vSphere 7.0 U2 if the virtual appliances have encryption on? or Does this mean VMs with encryption on running in vSphere 7 U2 cannot be replicated and protected if we are using VR and SRM 8.4? or What does this mean?

Thanks in advance, regards

Hi @JoaquinC ,

This means that the 7.0 U2 ESXi hosts containing VMs with VM encryption is not compatible with SRM and VR. SRM-VR VMs should not be run on such ESXi hosts and should not protect any VMs which reside on these hosts.

Hope that helps
