ipconfig /registerdns as part of post power on

Hello,

We are assigning new IP addresses to our servers as part of the recovery process. All works fine, but I find that generally, I need to reboot the servers again once they are up before they will correctly see each other with names.

I have tried the following

ipconfig /registerdns

cmd.exe /c "ipconfig /registerdns"

c:\windows\cmd.exe /c "ipconfig /registerdns"

None of those seem to be working. Can anyone help out with the correct syntax?

Where are you trying to run the commands? Inside the VMs or as a part of the recovery plan (using "command" step)?

If through the recovery plan, then obviously it won't work, since the commands are executed on SRM server itself and not on the guests.

Thanks. I was trying to get a command to run on the guest. I guess your post answers my question in the best possible way Smiley Happy
