how to test SRM

it seems SRM is difficult to test, i don't have two VMware certified storage array.

i have two storage virtualized by Datacore SANmelody, it has replication function, but i don't know whether vmware support(technically) run SRM on them?

If your looking for a recognised storage vendor to test SRM with - you could do no wrong by looking at Lefthand Networks VSA. It's a virtual appliiance, fully fledge iSCSI SAN. You can download it for free and evaluate it for 30-days. It's how I got started with SRM, and it heavily dominates the 1st draft of my new book on SRM. I'm hoping to make the book more "storage neutral" before it is released...

Hello,

When you virtualize the storage with Datacore, it essentially becomes the primary storage as far as ESX / VC / SRM are concerned. Datacore is not supported storage / replication for SRM at this time.

For the current list of supported storage and replication for SRM, please see the compatibility guide at .

Thanks,

Jay
