Hi,
Has anyone came across this error, when setting up the SRM protection groups, with RDM disks and MSCS shared cluster attached to VMs.
" a virtual machine has one or more devices which don't have file backings. "
We are using one to one mapping of storage. i.e storage1 in DC1 and storage2 in DC2. no multiple storages linked, no LUN conflict etc.
Thx

Do all of the virtual and rdm disks have a replica in the dr site? This would include the VMFS where the OS VMDK is housed, the RDM that holds the Quorum and any RDMs that house the shared data. You may also see this error message if you have an ISO or FLP mounted as a CD or floppy on the source side.

Yes, the LUNs (vmfs and rdm) are synched to a DR site.
No, none of the VMs have cd or floppy.
Alog with this i have fot duplicate LUN ID for the first time.., even though the there is no duplicate LUNs in SAN.
LUN error as below: luns with duplicate ids or numbers received from san integration scripts
Thx

What storage and replication technology are you using?
hp eva 8xxx (active-active storage) with multiple DR groups (CG groups in emc) and async replication
If you try to reconfigure the virtual machine within the protection group the menu options will bring you through the configuration and show exactly which device it believes is not replicated, have you seen this yet?
