VMware SRM and EMC recoverpoint

Hi Guy,

Can VMware SRM integrated with EMC RecoverPoint replication for storage arrays provide zero RPO? it can work well with EMC RecoverPoint replication for storage arrays that can provide real time replication?

any recommend between using SRM integrated with EMC RecoverPoint replication for storage arrays and EMC RecoverPoint for VM?

Thank you in advanced for all of your comment. all of your advice are valuable.

RecoverPoint can in theory support RPO of zero with synchronous replication (subject to bandwidth/latency etc.). SRM is not so much concerned with RPO rather than RTO as it orchestrates the failover of the VMs on the replicated storage - it isn't involved in the replication. You need to install the storage replication adapter so SRM can control the failover of the storage.

SRM works with RecoverPoint (there is an SRA) in async and sync modes.

I would recommend SRM though I am biased (I work for VMware). It is a more mature product and offers more flexibility and options (eg. VM level replication with vSphere Replication AND array-based replication support with solutions like RecoverPoint).
