VMs still say they are managed by solution VMware Site Recovery

Vcenter 5.0 update 1, SRM 5.0

I failed over a couple of VMs to alternate site. We want to test failing back a little differently. I removed both vms from all SRM configs but whenever I go to do something on them I get the question about them being managed by the VMware Site Recovery Manager Extension. Basically the client wants to test whether Vsphere replication or snapmirror replication has more of an effect on running vms. So, even though I used Vsphere replication to failover initially, I want to set up a snapmirror for one of them coming back. Will the fact that Vsphere still thinks of them as being managed by Site Recovery extension get in the way of setting up new replication?

I've had a simliar problem before, the best solution is to shut the VM down, remove it from the inventory (Right Click > "Remove from Inventory") and then go into the datastore it was on and find the vmx file, then right click that and "Add to inventory", following the steps to select folders, resource pools etc.

Voila! No longer managed by SRM Smiley Happy
