We are having a problem with an SRM partnership that was working however since having to reinstall a VCenter server at the second site is now having issues, both sites were at v6 with the VCenter installed on Windows however since I had to replace the vcenter I opted for using a VCA.
I am being told that when using the VC with embedded PSC the SRM site paring will not happen as it is not a supported configuration.
The following link kind of shows the VC's with external PSC's but then states "the platform Services Controller instances can be either external to vCenter Server or embedded in the vCenter Server instances.
Before I take the drastic step of reinstalling both vCenters can anybody confirm if the above is correct.
Thanks
Gareth
The Embedded PSC should work with site recovery manager.
Also the below link confirms that SRM can work with VCSA on one site or both site.
Compatibility Matrixes for vCenter Site Recovery Manager 6.0
It is not just the vcenter compatibility, site pairing also has specific requirements when it comes to vCenter and SRM SSL certificates.
go through the linked KB as well.

SRM is supported with an embedded PSC. It took me a while to find clarity in the documentation on the matter, but it's there...

If you plan to leverage enhanced linked mode, you'll need an external PSC to be supported.
