Trouble installing Office2007 on Windows 7

Hi,

I'm having trouble installing Office2007 on Windows7.

My Windows7 is running on VMWare Fusion 2.0.5

I tried to install Office2007, but the installation progress screen just disappears in the middle of the installation.

I tried to install it several times but had same problem.

Can somebody tell me how to fix this?

Are you running it from a mounted ISO to the win7 machine? if so you can try copying the install bits locally to the VM and try running it from there.

you could also look at the setup log to see what the problem may be:

This is also a fresh windows 7 installation?

Thank you for the reply.

To clarify, do you mean copy all the Office installation files to win7 and run it from there?

Could it be the problem of memory allocation? I've allocated 1GB RAM to WIn7

Yes that is what I meant. No I dont think memory is the problem. Try running it as an administrator - right click the setup file and click run as administrator. Is this a clean install of win 7? or have you placed other office installtions on it prior? have you also placed update to the vm as well? Have you tried checking the setup log to see if there is a specific error it may be logging as noted above?

Here is a thread I found of various problems/fixes with installing office 2k7 on win 7.

Also before running try killing any and all anti-virus/security applications as well as they could be blocking it before it has a chance to report back an error.
