I am trying to test the VMware Site Recovery Manager 4.1 on NetApp storage. The current architecture I have is
6 dell 2950 server running ESX4.0
2 Virtual Server running VMware VCenter server.
1 Cisco 3750 switch which has 2 VLANS configured on it. Routing among the VLAN is configured.
1 NetApp Storage box with SnapMirror configured among the two volumes
Just wanted to know that beforehand that would this configuration will support the testing of VMware Site Recovery Manager
Mmm, not sure. Give it a try?
Here's why I'm not sure. I have to NetApp FAS2020 which replicate to each other using SnapMirror. That's the configuration you would expect for SRM...
I'm not sure how happy the array will be - and more importantly the SRA will be with the Protected Site and Recovery Site array being the SAME thing... I don't think there would be anything stopping you specify the same name/IP for just one array. But I've never tried it...
I would be interesting if you could get this work - for lab environments...

Hi Mike,
I have a FAS 2050 and what I was thinking of mapping iSCSI LUN to both the VCenter server and creating a SnapMirror configuration at the backend on storage. Then I will configure my VMware site recovery manager with NetApp FAS 2050.
Is there any step I am missing then do update me.
Warm Regards
V
So you have two separate netapp arrays?
Then no problem...
Sorry, from reading your original post it sounded like u only had 1 array... my bad...
