Using VMware SRM 5.0.1, I was wondering if it is possible to use the "test failover" option in the secondary site if the primary is unavailable, or if only the failover option is available. I could not find the answer anywhere.
The idea is to take advantage of the fact that the primary site will be down for 2 hours in scheduled maintenance (which is acceptable in this case), and see VMware SRM working in a more realistic POC. I do not want to use the failover option in order to keep the storage mirrors intact (using EMC Mirrorview/A with VNX SRA - which according to the documentation would need a full resync if the primary is down when the secondary is promoted).
