SRM service failed at the end of the installation process

Hello,

We need to evaluate Site Recovery Manager, i try to install it on a fresh Windows 2003 R2 64bits.

Use a separate database on a Sql server 2008.

I install the native client on the windows 2003 and configure an odbc32 connector.

But the install cannot terminate, because the service srm cannot start :

I use the administrator account for the installation and the connection to the Vcenter.

Should i need some other right anywhere ?

Thanks for the help !...

In the log i have the followed error :

Hello Chalan,

Make sure the account you are using is granted DBO to the SRM database you are updating.

Hi,

What is the version of SRM?

What is the version of vCenter?

What error message do you get?

Does user for vCenter has "Administrator" role assigned at root level of  vCenter?

Michael

So what about the user for vCenter? According to KB article this is the reason for the failure:

SRM service fails to start with error: Role referred to invalid privilege

Michael.

I use the administrator account for the connection to the vcenter .

The KB ask about some missing role on the vcenter or not enought permission, my administrator have the entire permission on the vcenter.

Make sure you use 32 bit SQL client:
