SRM requires SQL login?

Hi- I'm referencing documentation that says SRM requires a SQL login (versus a domain account configured as a SQL login) when the SRM SQL DB is hosted on a SQL server that is on a different server than the SRM server. 

Is this still true for SRM 5.0.1?
