SRM requirements

Hi,

we have a small datacenter having 3 VMware servers, we are planning for disaster recovery;

Do i need to purchase vsphere (vsphere and vcenter) and SRM for DR site ?

I think my question is related to pre-sales but if any one can help me on this.

Yes, you will need licensed copies of ESXi and vCenter Server at the DR site, in addition to the SRM licenses.

Hi,

You can go with  vSPhere Replication option instead of SRM ( Array Based ). If you go  with vSphere Replication , then you  dont need by SRM , since this is included in vSphere 5.1 Stanadard. Here you just need one more license for VC and ESX host on DR site

IF you want to use Array based replication , then you need SRM , VC and  ESXi  on both side, and you have to pay for SRM.

Assuming you are using vSphere 5.1
