SRM on virtualised vcenter with FT

Any views or thought on this - been hunting through the best practice papers and not sound anything.

Seen lots of people put vcenter into a Vm and switch on FT - what do people think if you are using srm - keep in on a separate box or put it in the vm.

anyone done it - any good paper to read about pros / cons.

thanks

Personally I'm a proponent of installing SRM on it's own virtual machine! I haven't seen anything actually addressing SRM itself, not really a lot written out there yet.

I would recommend separate VM for SRM too.

Since FT is limited to one vCPU, protecting vCenter with it is an option for relatively small envirinments. And if you install SRM on your vCenter VM the chance one vCPU will not be enough increases (especially during test/failover) .

Welcome to the forums,

I am going to move you question to the area dedicated to SRM as that is where the real SRM gurus play.
