Hello,
I am having an issue re-installing SRM on one of my servers.
Scenario:
After uninstalling an SRA on my system, I attempted to restart the SRM service, which failed. After multilpe failed restart attempts, I decided to uninstall-reinstall SRM.
Now I am seeing these errors and the installation fails:
1 . Initial screen ->next
2. EULA agreement ->accept->next
3. Desination folder (use default) ->next
4. Enter VC Server login credentials ->next
5. get warning message about overwriting the existing registration of SRM extension on the VC Server->Yes
6. Automatically generate certificate->next
7. Certificate generation organization info -> next
8. SRM Extension registration info->next
9. SQL Server info->next
10. begin installation ->Install
11. Installation begins and runs for a bit
12. when the installation gets to the phase: "Updating XML file C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Sit...\certGenUtil.xml..." I get the following error message pop up:
"Error 27519.Error updating XML file C:\Program
Files]VMware\VMware Site Recovery
Manager\config\certGenUtil.cml. -2147024891"
with the option to Abort Retry or Ignore
if I click"Abort", then the installation backs out and fails
if I click "Retry" the error message pops right back up
if I click "Ignore" I get more error messages aboutother XML files failing to update.
I've tried rerunning the installation script, and the error reoccures each time.
Any ideas?
Not a clue - never seen this error before. I think this one for VMware Support direct...
For what's worth an uninstall of SRA shouldn't break the SRM service - all SRM installer is doing is copying some files to the disk - in fact some SRAs you just unzip and copy to the disk.
So perhaps your failure to get the SRM service was related to another issue. Not that this helps you with this futher problem.
Sorry!
