SRM in a single site

Hi,

The give away is probably in the name but is it possible to use SRM in a single site.

Our configuration is that we have one site but we have a cluster for DR, it is located in a different building. I would like to use srm to use the DR cluster as the secondry site. We would be using vsphere replication, is this possible?

To my knowledge, SRM requires two sites (both with VC and SRM).

However, if you use VR 5.1, you can replicate VMs within a single site. The drawback of this solution is that you don't have the orchestration of the SRM for the recovery - in VR 5.1 this is a manual process.
