The SRM admin guide limits the number of protection groups ( 150 max ) and the number of protected VMs ( 500). Both limits are enforced with SRM v1.0 U1.
In an active / active use case where you have two production datacenters each replicating to the other and each acting as DR for the other one in case of site disaster, would the limits apply to the total of the protection groups ( PGs) & VMs at each site ot is it the total limit for the two sites? In other words, can we have 500 VMs and 150 PGs at each site yielding total max number of VMs to 1000 and PGs to 300 protected by SRM in both sites?
Check page 23 of the admin guide, it states:
When you are selecting and configuring your virtual and physical equipment, you must not exceed certain limits imposed by SRM. Table 2‐2 lists the limits for protected virtual machines, protection groups, and replicated LUNs supported by a single SRM server.
