SRM and vSphere Replication Reprotect Test

Hi,

Can I run test before start a reprotect process (Failback), in other words, is it possible to do test only in SRM failover?

Thanks all

Hi

"Reprotect" just reverse the direction of the replication (to protect the recovered VMs on the recovery site back to the original protected site). The actual migration of the VMs back to the protection site is "Failback" operation and you can run "Test" before you perform "Failback"

Best Regards

Ivan

Hi, you can run test after the reprotect operation completes.

You can find more details and preconditions here: Reprotecting Virtual Machines After a Recovery

Hope this helps

Sorry but it's a little illogical to me, is it the same test as SRM Failover and if so why doesn't it run before the Reprotect operation?

Thanks
