SRM Re-Protect

Hi, following a failover from primary to secondary site there will be a requirement to failback.

The question i have is regards to 're-protect' - when clicking reprotect as well as creating placeholder VMs does it also replicate the entire VM from scratch OR only the changes whilst hosted at the secondary site.

In this situation Array Based storage is used and vSphere Replciation with SRM

thanks

Hi Joe,

During re-protect, SRM sends instructions to change the direction of replication. Existing data blocks are reviewed and changes are replicated to target site.

Hope that helps
