SRM IP change/customization problem after recovery

We have a DC and DR site. We have vCenter 6.7, ESXi 6.7, SRM 8.5 and VR 8.5 running on the 2 sites. When we try to recover VM from DC to DR site using SRM the IP customization is not working. Previously we had SRM and VR version 8.3. We updated to 8.4 and then 8.5. Still the problem exists.

Note that replication is 100% working. Also, we have checked time syncing on all the appliances. Time syncing to the NTP server is 100% working.  What can be the possible reason?

There could be various reasons - I would recommend filing an SR. Is it customization of Windows or Linux VM ? What is the VMtools version installed in the VM ?

You can also check the VMtools logs for the errors and check if the VGAuth service is running in the VM

Best Regards

Ivan

Did you happen to open an SR?

There is a log more information we can gather from the SRM logs and the logs left in the VM after a customization attempt.

If this issue is still active, please reply and we can help out!

What was the issue and how was it resolved?

We are having similar issues on SRM 8.7.  IP customisation is not kicking off for any Win/ Linux VMs and the recovery plans get stuck at 96%.

Hi all

Note sure it's the same issue shared here but there was a known issue in VR 8.7 support with NSX-T Opaque networks. It's fixed in VR 8.7.0.1 - see https://docs.vmware.com/en/vSphere-Replication/8.7/rn/vsphere-replication-8701-release-notes/index.h...
