I have SRM 5 installed, vCenter 5 and ESXi 5. Sites are paired, NetApp snapmirror is happening, resources mapped, etc. However, everytime I create a protection group, it stalls at 57%. I have verified my Java maximum is 2048MB. Log files attached.
Any ideas? The main warnings/errors seem to be:
What version of NetApp SRA do you have?
Also, Do you have one datastore per volume?
You can also get NetApp VSC plug-in for VMware. It will give recommendation for tweaking your hosts. I had to do this before I installed SRM 4 a while back. It help me.
I believe it is version 2.0 - I will double check when I get back to the computer.

Yes, this test protection group is one volume, one datastore, 3 VM's. Snapmirror is working @ 5 min intervals. Datastore is mounted at protection site as r/w, and mounted at recovery site as read-only.

I am guessing that ds_vms_dbs_A is one of your volumes? Can you change the snapmirror replication up to 30 minutes or so and try to set up the protection group when snapmirror is not running? Some other function is locking it up, so I am guessing it could be snapshot and/or mirror.
Yes, it is the name of the volume and the datastore. I will test this and report back

Confirmed: SRA version 2.0. This is a brand-new install, initially testing with administrator, so there will not be any permissions issues. Is the datastore at the recovery site supposed to be mounted as read-only?
No. Datastore at the DR site(snapmirror VOL of primary site) needs to be added normally (no read-only checkbox). The DR hosts need to be able to write to that datastore. Snapmirror will determine which volume is read-only depending on the state of the mirrors.
