SRM 1.0 and vCenter 4

Hello,

I am wondering what the support is for SRM 1.0 with vCenter 4. I am in the process of upgrading my 3.5 hosts to vSphere and vCenter 4. Can I leave my SRM installation at 1.0u1 or do I need to upgrade to 4.0.1?

Has anyone had any experience with this updgrade and if so anything I need to look out for, or any good processes or steps I should follow?

Thanks.

Actually I am not looking for anything about the new 4.0 or 4.0.1 I am wondering if 1.0u1 is compatible with vcenter 4.

According to SRM 1.0.1 is not compatible with vSphere.

ASIK. VMware doesn't do "forwards" compatibility.

SRM 4.0 was developed, because SRM 1.0 is incompatible with vSphere4. And it was some months before we got it it....

So has anyone done an upgrade from 1.0.1 to 4.0.1? Anything I need to do that might not be in the notes. I have the notes on how to do it and hopefully it is straightforward. Anybody with experience with this can possibly comment?

Is it just installing the new software at the "protected" site first, which will do the update. And then doing the same to the "recovery" site. Then updating the VI Client and making sure the sites are paired?

Upgrade VC first.

Then vSphere client

You'll get a whole bunch of plug-in errors... when you open the client

Upgrade SRM...

Upgrade SRM plug-ins...

Protected Site first...
