SAN Migration with SRM

We are planning a san migration where all virtual machines will need to be storage migrated.   We currently use SRM to protect many vms,  is there a way to migrate the config without having to unprotect and reprotect including reconfiguration of all the SRM machines?  Or is there an easy way to export the current config and then replace it when complete?

Unfortunately there isn't a way to svmotion or something similar and not have to reconfigure SRM. There also isn't a way to export/import your config. Have you looked at the vRO SRM plug-in or the PowerCLI capabilities of SRM? They won't give you everything you need but they should help.

I havent looked at powercli or vRO because we don't have vRO,   I have been using the dripreporter and ipcustomizer but takes a lot of massaging of the data

vRO is included with your vSphere license, no additional cost/license required. To use the SRM plug-in requires SRM 5.8 or higher. SRM 5.8 also introduced IP subnet mapping which makes dealing with IP addresses much easier.
