Running recovery Plan problems

Hi

VM gets powered off instead of graceful shutdown. It seems that SRM doesn't leave enough time to the VM for shutting down guestOS.Is there a way to configure such a timeout setting.

Thanks for your help

Yes, there is a setting in Advanced Settings that is called "Recovery.powerStateChangeTimeout". Default value is 120 seconds.

To change it right-click on Site Recovery --> Advanced Settings and go to the Recovery section.

I change this setting to 600 but still after 14 seconds, the VM is powered off instead of being shut down gracefully

Did you change the setting on both SRM servers?

I'm not sure but probably restart of SRM service (on both sites) is required for setting to apply.

both services have been restarted. It is really weird.

If i try "shutdown guest OS" on the VM itself, it works as designed but if SRM initiates it, I see "waiting for guest OS shutdown" for approx 15 seconds then success and "power off" success.

It initiates the shutdown but it has no time to finish before the "power off" process kicks in

As a result. After recovery I see an unexpected shutdown event in my windows VM.

BTW thanks for taking time to answer my question,it is really appreciated
