Reprotect

I have my Protected and Recovery sites setup and all is well, but I want to make sure reprotect will work.

I have my place holder datastore setup in the current protected site as well as resource pool, folders and network mappings all configured.  Also on each VM that is protected I have the ethernet settings filled out for protected and recovery sites.

I assume once you reprotect, the ip settings that are filled out in the "Protected" site field will be reapplied to the VM once you initiate a ReProtect?

Am I missing anything?

The IP settings will be applied onvce you do a failover or test in either direction. Reprotect pretty much reverses the direction of data replication and updates the protection and recovery groups.

So as long as I have protected and recovery addressing filled out I will be good going both ways?

Correct. You can run a test failover on a test VM and see it in action.

I've done tests but I wanted to do a real run through where it fails the LUN over and everything, then do a reprotect to make sure it comes back correctly.
