Replication status - Not active

Hello,

I have a replication warning with one VM in the SRM vSphere Replication menu  :

Capture.PNG

When i launch the command "synchronize now" i get this error :

Capture.PNG

I looked for solution on many forums but i got no success to solve the problem.

What i tried for now :

Remove the replication

Delete folder of the vm on the datastore of the recovery site

Restart vCenter at both site

Restart Server VR Appliance at both site

Rester Server VR at both site

Reconfigure the replication

This problem appear on only one VM.

Any one have an idea for this issue ? Thx.

Regards.

Hi,

Can you check the events on the source VM? Also more details will be available at VR server logs (/var/log/vmware/hbrsrv*).

There is a known issue, if the source VM has a disk size not divisible to 1024, VR can not prepare matching disk at the target datastore. Workaround is to increase the disk size at the source VM to a KB boundary. See VMware KB: Replication stays in "Not active" state and source vCenter Server has event &qu...

If not the same issue, please file SR and upload support bundles for source ESXi and target VR server, so that the support team can assist with this issue.

Regards,

Martin

Hi,

Please grep in vmkernel.log of the source ESXi for the GID-... value (and/or Hbr keyword).

"Not active" status is reported when the source ESXi can not send delta to the target VR server - either issue with the source VM, or connectivity issue between ESXi and VR server, or connectivity issue between VR server and hosts through which it accesses the target datastore(s).

Regards,

Martin

Hi,

That's what i find in vmkernel.log :

There is my VR Server in 8.213, so what mean "The set of disks on the replication server doesn't match" concretely ?

Thx.
