Recovery Test with RDM in Phisical Mode

Hi all i've the following issues with SRM 4.1.

I have some virtual machine with RDM disks in phisical mode, the two sites are both active and protected, the protection group for this virtual machine are ok, the array replicate correctly also the RDM lun and so i can protect in the right way this virtual machine.

When i try to test the recovery plan SRM give me this error when try to power on the virtual machine : "Failed to connect NFC Service".

I've already checked this KB article http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=100990...

but the certifcate it's already disable in my confguration.

Anyone have an idea if it's possible to make this kind of test with RDM Lun in phisical mode?

In attach the vmware-dr.log

Thank you

Regards

Ale

Hi Ale - did you find out the answer to this error message - i have the same thing happening on my srm server - like you the vm that is having problems has rdms in physical compatibility mode? I am going to repost the error in the forums to see if it gets any new answers. Regards GC

Hi Guy,

the problem is the DNS of my SRM server, in the log i found

NfcNewAuthdConnectionEx: Failed to connect to peer (numRetries=0). Error: Host address lookup for server esx4xxx.xxx.int failed: The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found

So my srm server did not resolve correctly the hostname of my ESX hosts.

Hope it's helpful

Ale
