Reconfiguring Resource Mappings. Changing Clusters

What is the best way to change clusters (resource) mapping on a running vSphere Replication/SRM 8.1 setup?  We have a new cluster coming online at the recovery site and would like to point the replications at it.  It looks like SRM will allow you to simply change the mapping though I don't have the cojones to do that.

A couple other ideas include

1. adding new hosts to what would be an EVC cluster, maintenance mode and remove legacy hosts.  That would remove the need for a new cluster
2. Export  Site Recovery configuration, break site pair, reconfig for new cluster and restore.  (seems wobbly).

Any thoughts?

Hello Eric,

You can certainly go ahead and follow the below procedure.

• Un-protect the VM's from protection group
• Change the cluster under resource mapping to new cluster
• Re-protect the VM. (That would ideally register the placeholder to the new cluster)
