Question for SRM and Dell equallogic storage replication

Hello,

We are implementing SRM 5.0.1 with Dell EqualLogic storage replication.

We have finished the initial replication of 5 volume. we performed this replication at primary site(LAN) only.

my question is, can i start replication schedule of these volumes(at primary site) before we move the storage back to DR site.?Hmm

can we pause the replication?

appreciate  any suggestion.

Thanks and regards

Tejas

I believe both the arrays are in the primary site for the initial replication and that process is completed,

if that is the case, then you can pause the replication from the storage console and do the reconfiguration etc... then move the DR storage to DR site

and once it is installed in the DR again you can resume the replication.... I dont think anything wrong in this. if the storage has lot of data we do like this only... other wise it will take long time to replicate and the link speed between the site etc will come in to picture.

if the storage has very less data then no need to do like this... you can directly install the storage in the DR and configure the replication ...

yes, both array are at primary site and initial replication is completed.

so i will proceed creating schedule for LUN replication and later on i will pause it when we will send storage back to DR site.

Thanks

is there any Dell equallogic best practice available for the same procedure?
