Question about Pre/Post power on scripts

When you choose to run a power on script from the SRM server....what SRM server does it run on? It is not very clear in the GUI

Its runs from the protected site SRM server.

So then my question becomes why? In a disaster situation, if there are a bunch of these scripts necessary for VMs to come online appropriately, why run from a site which is lost?

My apologizes I used the wrong term. Its the site you are recovering to for the reason you just said. I've tested this with our setup.
