Problem with SRM5 installation

Hello,

I installed SRM 5 on a vCenter 5 server and the installation went fine. The problem is that I can't see the SRM tab in vCenter and I get this error message :

Call "VirtApplianceManager.IsVirtualAppliance" for object "Integrity.VirtApplianceManager" on Server "MyServer" failed.

Is it a configuration issue in vCenter or should I re-install SRM?

Thank you.

Frank

"MyServer" is the name of the vCenter or SRM server? Can you ping this name?

Hello,

"MyServer" is both vCenter server and SRM server.

Yes I can ping the server.

Thank you.

Weird. Can you try using a different client machine to check if this is a plugin issue?

My problem is solved.  I re-installed SRM and everything went fine.

Thank you.

Sorry for dragging up an old thread, but this was the only relevant hit so far.

I occasionally get the same msg in a pop-up window if I am doing some work at the remote/recovery site.

The only difference is the "MyServer" is actually my Update Manager server.

- the error is on my client workstation, and my co-worker has gotten it too.

vCenter 5.0 (plus patches), SRM plug in and build 919478.

SRM has been up and running, tested, and working for about a year.  I couldn't say exactly when this started happening.

To the best of my knowledge, at this point it is just an annoyance.

Do I live with it until the next environment overhaul?

I have the same issue that TBKing describes, I don't have SRM so I believe it relates to update manager. Any idea for the reason for this would be highly appreciated.
