One to Many Protected Sites SRM

Hi everyone,

Currently I have 2 sites (Primary Site & DR Site1) I am running vSOM with vCS standard on both sites and have 1 instance (25 VM Pack) of SRM, Currently I am replicating some VMs from Primary to DR Site1 and have tested the failover and failback successfully.

Now I need to add another DR Site by purchasing more vSOM & vCS STD licenses for the additional DR Site named DR Site2. I will replicate the same set of VMs to DR Site2 as well from Primary Site. (Primary site will have 2 DR sites for same VMs)

Is it possible to have 2 DR Sites for One Protected Site, if YES then what would be the architecture/ design and licensing required? if not then what should I do to have multiple DR Sites from licensing and architecture/design perspective.

Do I need to add more SRM instances along with additional licenses to have multiple DR sites.

SRM does not support replication to multiple target sites, so you may have to use a ring topology to protect amongst those three sites. Please read the documentation here for supported and unsupported topologies.

You cant Protect the same vm to multiple dr sites. You could protect different cams to different sites. That would require a second srm server st the protected site paired with the srm server in dr site 2

Moaz,

We have the same issue as well.   I would recommend you look at another product such as recoverpoint for VM or Zerto.  We have been asking VMWare for this feature for years and even at the conference we get blank stares about the topic.
