Missing Alarm Definitions - Fresh Install

I have done a number of installations of SRM 5.8, 6.0, and 6.1 over the past year or two.  Every time I have done the installation, I have noticed that the SRM alarm definitions do not show up in the web client or the windows client to allow configuration of e-mail alerts for various SRM events.  I have not been able to find any other posts or a VMware KB article on the issue.  With the fact that I have done the installations a number of times with the same results I am wondering if anyone else has run into this and has a fix.  I have had customers open cases with VMware on this issue but am not aware if they ever fixed the issue.  With a recent new installation, the SRM alarms AND the vSphere Replication alarm are missing.

Thanks!

Hi,

I guess that you' re searching Alarm definitions in the SRM view, which is not right. Alarms are defined in one place at VC global level, for VR should be the same place as SRM.

You can check SRM documentation for more details: SRM adds alarms to the the alarms that VC supports. (Site Recovery Manager 6.1 Documentation Center)

Hope that this help,

Daniel G.

Was there ever a fix to this?  I seem to be having the same problem with 6.1... the alarms do not exist (and yes I am looking at alarm definitions in the web client, at the vcenter server level)...

Not sure what you are looking for a fix for. There aren't pre-defined alarms, you can just create what you need/want using the definitions available that include SRM, VR, etc.
