Failback with different recovery options than Failover

Hi. I have recovery plans that during failover will run a script to shutdown vm's in Protected datacentre, that are outside the protection of SRM (i.e. vm's that are not protected due to specific reasons). This works just fine during a failover. During a failback doesn't SRM just flip the recovery plan? I need to be able to run a startup script for those same vm's that are outside of the SRM protection.

How can this be accomplished? Shutdown script during failover, Startup script during failback?

Thanks

The only way I can see this working is that I'll need to edit the Recovery Plan before the failback. Not sure if that's the solution though.

You could have SRM call a script with the same name at the two sites that did the two different things. You could also look at using powercli to check the site name and run a different function dependending on the site.

Here is a great resource on SRM & PowerCLI: SRM Cmdlets for PowerCLI | BenMeadowcroft.com
