I have two sites running vCenter 6.5 with vSphere 6.5 hosts, running vSphere Replication 6.5.1.
I would like to deploy Site Recovery Manager leveraging only vSphere Replication (no array-based replication). I noticed that when installing vSphere Replication, there was a separate package if using Site Recovery Manager.
My question: can I simply deploy SRM 6.5.1 using the vSphere replication appliances that have already been deployed at each site, or am I required to redeploy a different vSphere replication?
SRM and VR can be deployed separately or together. SRM can be installed without VR or vice versa.
Since vSphere Replication is already deployed, can I simply install SRM and use the replication already in place for my SRM recovery plan?
Yes
