Hi Guys,
I am trying out SRM 5.0 and everything seems fine. However, I noticed that there are some difference in status icon.
behind is the vCenter accessed from a remote machine (with flower-like icon), on top is the vCenter accessed directly from the vCenter Server (with lightning icon). Can someone explain this?
Thanks,
Marc
Customer of mine has the same issue. No solution yet.
I can't help - but I know that I had lightning bolt icons at some point, and then they morphed into the flower icons. No idea why.
Also, why you are running the client on vCenter Server?
I'm having the same problem, any solution yet?
Thanks,
KV
Different versions of the vSphere Client or SRM plugin perhaps?
Cheers
DB
It seems to be a problem about naming resolution.
Check SRM extension information.
1. access the vcenter host of a "recovery site" using browser
e.g.) https://${vcenter_fqdn}/mob
2. enter administrator's username and password.
3. navigate to SRM extension information
content > extensionManager > extensionList["com.vmware.vcDr"] > managedEntityInfo > smallIconUrl
4. check whether you can access smallIconUrl via browser.
if not, revise hosts file, domain search or dns entry, then you can find it and vSphere Client shows lightening icons.
I think the vcenter server could resolve "smallIconUrl", but the remote machine couldn't resolve "smallIconUrl"

This is caused when you install VMware vSphere Update Manager Extension 5.0.0.11856.
The prior version of update manager shows all srm managed servers with a lightening bolt icon. After the install the the Update manager extension it changes for some server to the other icon.
Just what I have seen..
