DR VMs using existing Datastore Signature or new signature

Dear All

I need a help in the following:

when I do senario testing replication between two storages with SRM I split the two storages by stopping the replication, and to test the VMs existing on DR (Recovery Site) site, I found of them which is SQL Server working fine taking its file from datastore, my question is does ESX servers use existing Signature or new signature

any body can help me to verify that, or is there any documents about that

Hi,

Datastores on the DR site are resignatured. That's why you see "snap-xxx" prefix in their names.

What do you mean by "use the signature"?

After the datastores get the new signature, SRM registers the VMs using the new volume UUID.

What do you need the signature for?
