DEV SRM server registered with PROD VCenter Servers

We are setting up a dev instance of SRM.  We do not have any DEV VCenter servers.  Our current VCenter servers run production and development VM's.  We are planning on testing SRM with the dev VM's only.  I wanted to know if there will be any affect on our VCenter servers when we register SRM with the VCenter servers?  I am trying to avoid affecting any production VM's that are running on the VCenter servers. I was hoping there would not be and we could logically separate the dev VM's and test them with SRM when the time came.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Installing SRM will not impact any VMs. VMs would only be impacted by SRM after they are replicated (something handled outside of SRM by either array based replication or vSphere Replication), configured for protection by SRM and failed over or migrated.

If you want just test failover of your development virtual machines you can do this using a single SRM without affect the production virtual machines if you create separated protection groups and recovery plans for your development virtual machines.
