Corrupted SRM database

Hi all,

I got myself into a situation where I now have a corrupted SRM SQL database. I uninstalled SRM and then re-installed. On re-installing even though I am selecting "Recreate the database" I get errors during installation that "Failed to drop database tables The table pd_remotesite" has been dropped already and can't be dropped. Failed to drop 1 table. No big deal I thought, and clicked "No" to skip the check, but installation freaks out and exits!

Ideas how to get around this?

thanks,

Holly

Hello listener,

I would ideally look into the logs and find the details.

If the amount of configuration is not much, then you could complete delete the existing DB and create a new DB instance and a new DSN connection to this newly created DB and then fire up the installation.

Please let me know if you have a ticket/SR submitted for this with VMware.

Regards

Arvind

Hi! Thanks for replying. Since I posted this I had to delete my DB. Uninstall and reinstall. That fixed the problem but what a pain!

Just a note for other people or customers with issues like this, SRM "uninstall" does not "delete" or entirely remove the database even though it says it does in the uninstall screens. It definitely deleted the tables, but the name and reference was still there. And if tables were previously missing, uninstall doesn't work and you will have to delete the DB manually.
