Configure Protection for a VM - Error

I have a SRM 5.1 setup. I created a protection Group and it protected all VMs except for 3 which have a protection status of "Not Configured". When I try and right-click any of these VMs and select "Configure Protection", I get the error(see attached screenshot").

If I do the same for a protected VM it is OK.

Any advice is appreciated.

Hi,

Looks like you don't have permission on some object these VMs are using.

How do these three VMs differ from other VMs? Folder / Port Group / Datastore?

Michael.

Thanks for the reply Michael.

It does point to a permission issue but there does not seem to be anything different to the other VMs in the Protection Group - same Folder, Datastore, Port Group. I have also checked that there is a protected VM on the same Host. It has its VM Tools up to date. No snapshots discovered and I have also consolidated any "stray" snapshot files.

I am not sure what to look at next.

Regards

Ali
