Can I protect vCenter / SRM VM within SRM 5.5?

I have two Clusters, vCenter + SRM 5.5 in linked mode, vSphere Replication for Storagereplikation (NFS-Storage @ EMC Isilon).

I have the maybe stupid Idea of this:

Can I make a protectiongroup for the VM containing vCenter and SRM to protect and recover to the equal other site?

In other words: can SRM-Server be protected by SRM, if yes, how?
I ask because I did this, then I needed to do a desaster recovery and reprotect at the other side but now I cannot

re-recovery my SRM to it's original location.

The real question is what do you expect to happen once you recover vCenter at your DR site? vCenter will start looking for ESX hosts that were on the production site (presumed lost in DR event) and will fail to do anything.

That's why SRM requires two vCenter instances - one at each site and focuses on recovering workloads (VMs) rather than infrastructure.

Reprotect works only if manage to bring your production site up and for a good reason. If you need to redeploy ESX on your hardware (at production), bringing vCenter server back will not help - ESXi hosts will have different UUIDs and vCenter will not recognize them as the same servers.
