Boot To SAN Requirements

I haven't dived into SRM much yet, but will be implementing it soon. When leveraging SRM for DR

1. Should the ESX hosts be boot to SAN?

2. Should the virtual centers on both sides be boot to SAN?

Thanks

Hi,

There is no requirement for either the ESX servers or your vCenter server to boot from SAN with SRM.

SRM provides disaster recovery for your virtual machines, so as long as the virtual machines reside on replicated SAN storage, you should be good to go.

You will have ESX servers and a vCenter server at both your protected & recovery sites.

Thank you. I thought this was the case, but I wanted to verify.

Cheers.
