Adding IP Addresses to non customisable guest machines

Hi

Looking for some advise on post scripts for vm guests that are not supported for IP custiomisations.  In particular looking for guidance on Solaris 10 x86 and Oracle Linux 4/5/6 versions.  Is it possible to write a script that for failover add an additional network card, disable the existing card and populate the new card with DR IP address details?  If so does anyone have any such examples?  We are currently running SRM 4.12 (Soon to be 5.0), vSphere 4.1 Update 3.

Assistance would be greatfully appreciated

Thanks

Graeme

Hi,  do not see why this should be moved as this is a SRM issue.

Hi,

One of the way I can think of is to add command step that runs PowerCLI script. PowerCLI script will add the NIC and use invoke-vmscript cmdlet to execute your custom script inside VM to configure network settings. You will need to check if this cmdlet works with those guest OSes.
