How to prevent users to change Virtual Network settings

Is there a way to prevent users of VMWARE to change the Virtual network settings ? What I want is the ability for a user to create/use VMWARE instances that ONLY uses HOST-ONLY virtual networks.

The users workstation on which VMWARe is installed do not have Admin Rights.

Thanks !

Hello,

Unfortunately, you are talking about workstation and workstation has no protections within it of this nature. You could try installing it as an administrator and perhaps locking down access to various configuration files. But outside that, I am not sure what you can do. You may wish to ask this in the Workstation forum as well.

Best regards,

Edward

If the users do not have Admin rights, I believe that they cannot make any changes within the Virtual Network Editor.

Also, you could remove the VMnet8 adapter so they can't use NAT, and remove the VMware Bridge Protocol service from the physical adapters so they can't use Bridged mode. If they don't have Admin rights, they should not be able to recreate/readd those.
