Disable ctrl+alt+del on ESX server

Has anyone written a script to edit the inittab file? I want to edit or copy a new file in it's place to fix a small bug. At the Service Console of the ESX server, if you hit CtrlAltDel it will start a shutdown of all the VMs and the ESX server. Being mostly a windows shop this a something that is bound to happen sooner or later.

Thx,

Scott

Not really a PowerCLI question but have a look at ESX4 - Disable CTRL+ALT+DEL Keyboard Combination Invokes Shutdown.

Heck, you could even try to do that with PowerCLI and the plink.exe command Smiley Wink

Hello,

Check out the security hardening guides, they have the way to disable this functionality. Actually, its almost required for many guides. DISA is the best one for this. What works in 3.x will work in 4.x

Moved to the Security Forum.

Who most likely got how to disable ctrl-alt-delete from the myriad of Linux references on the subject. Smiley Happy

stay put for a VMware Patch as well. From my understanding this issue is known and is being addressed with a patch that should be out soon.
